Would you say this is styled more after a Nitro than a Quickrod? I haven't heard much for clips yet but it seems super heavy sounding.

I think if you don't know enough about how to change an LED yourself, you probably shouldn't be tinkering around inside your amp. Changing an LED is very easy.

I have a TCE Flashback x4, a very related pedal, I love it. Very versatile, definitely mess with Toneprint settings.

SCN are supposed to hum canceling. I would say that there's probably something wrong with the wiring in that guitar. Don't rely on a noise gate for everything. Eliminate noise as much as you can before adding one, I always say. That way your gate can less of an effect on your overall tone.
