Never got it running. I returned it to Musician's Friend and got a replacement. The replacement works just fine, and it's AWESOME!

I tried making sure all the tubes were connected, and nothing was loose. Also, when I turn up the bass anywhere past the 1/2 mark and turn the level up, all I get is a bunch of static and breaking up, like you'd hear on a radio station as you're losing reception. I know it's not my cabinet...

Thanks for the heads up. Given that it was just shipped, I'd like to try to tighten the preamp tube, or at least check them. I take it these are just pretty much "plug n play?" Also, if a preamp tube was the problem, wouldn't it cause all 3 channels to fail?

So, got the cab this evening, and got everything hooked up. The clean channel works as it should, but there is very little sound coming out of EITHER overdrive channel. I'm assuming everything is connected properly, because the clean channel is loud like it should be. As for the overdrives...

I should have my cab here today or tomorrow, hopefully. I ordered a G412 from Avatar last week and they told me it'd be here around Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I went with a combo of 2 Celestion Vintage 30s and 2 Celestion K100s. It should sound awesome!

All I could find at the local stores were 16 gauges, so I picked up one by CBI. I should get the cabinet either tomorrow or Wednesday, hopefully. I got the head last week.

Any particular brand recommendations? For as much money as I spent, I'll go with the 14 gauge...
