    Tech work

Randall told me last week that they're 4-5 weeks behind on repairs.

Great idea but seems toy like? Module thing.

My singer has the RM100, and we have used it both in the studio and at gigs with great success. Is it exactly like having three different amps? No. But it does allow you a great deal of flexibility. The modular design is great, too, because if you don't like one of the channels, just get a...

    Bogner Ubershall

The Uberschall is the best amp I've ever played through...for metal, anyway. It's clean channel isn't bad at all, but that distortion channel has tons of gain but never loses its clarity. Sounds huge for rhythm AND leads, something I've always struggled with.

    RM100M Reliability

The singer for my band has an RM100 head. The day we got it, it worked for about ten minutes and then the volume started to drop and the tubes went dark. Randall call-tagged it and fixed it (none too fast, btw), and it has worked fine for several months. Just last week, it worked fine at...

can i connect a mts to a rocktron chameleon pre-amp????

Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I've had a Chameleon for years, and I don't use any of the distortions on it. I've got a Hafler T2 preamp, and I just turn the distortion off for all my Chameleon patches. It shouldn't be a problem to use any preamp this way.

    Pulling tubes vs. Power attenuators

I think the best idea is to buy an amp that suits your typical volume level--the Mesa 20/20, etc...attenuators are harder on your output transformers than speakers; they have a static load rather than the variable load the speakers provide as the coils move.

Modular Effects? Hmm. Here's my idea...

Sounds like a great idea...another issue I can see is that four channels are usually enough variety for most players, but we might want more than four possible effects. Six or eight bays would be more reasonable, but the cost would skyrocket, not to mention the cost of engineering . If you...

    XL cab

I'm not defending Randall, because they should maintain QC standards. However, having an impedance load HIGHER than what the amp is set at doesn't hurt it. It's the other way around, where the output transformer is not seeing as much of a load as it expects, where you can run into problems.
