    Blackface schematic

Sorry peeps. Somehow I have lost these schematics in a hard drive shuffling. I thought the folder was backed up and it wasn't. Ugh. And freezoka just freaking disappeared, crapola. So if _anyone_ has the pdf's I'd love to get them back. Thanks

    Blackface schematic

If anyone is interested, I've traced out a schematic of the Blackface module. (newer black face plate version) I suspect that the used module I bought was modified, and may not have correct parts. Some of the values don't match the PCB layout in the module modifications topic. (not just the...

    Some classic information

Here is a site I've discovered with is much more generic, so probably not as helpful on guitar power/preamp theory. However, I do like the history section at the beginning. I finally know why the plate voltage is usually called B+. http://mysite.du.edu/~etuttle/electron/elect27.htm P.S. I'd...

    They all sound the same...

Two nights ago I was tone hunting. And was happy as could be, just thought it sounded fantastic. I had gotten a pedal off ebay and was testing it out. It got late, so I shut down. When I fired back up last night, none of it sounded right. Same hardware, same settings, different day...

Marshall 8x10 I scored on Ebay!

Wow that thing is gorgeous! I'd love to play through that. And a great price too, good buy!

    Houston, we have a problem

I know this is an old thread but couldn't help tossing out a suggestion. This might be a heat related issue. A part works fine until it heats up, and then begins to fail. You say this only happens on the clean module, it gets fuzzy and weak, is it possible that it is actually also happening...

how to run RM50 combo VERY clean and loud?

An update: I got a new set of JJ 6L6 tubes and was very disappointed to find that they were not balanced at all. At least I thought they weren't. Tube One was reading around 35mV while Tube Two was at 17mV. My gut feeling at this point was that something was wrong with the amp. But then I...

how to run RM50 combo VERY clean and loud?

kc2eeb - I'm loving your tips, thanks a million. Your comment about the first input tube has got me very curious, are there schematics, or at least block diagrams for for the Randall amps/modules anywhere?

how to run RM50 combo VERY clean and loud?

kc2eeb - I tried bypassing the preamp modules as mentioned, sounded good, but not even close to loud enough. I did some more research on the KT88's and that seems like a good move, just going to wait until I try out the new JJ 6L6's first. And I'll probably invest in a clean module before...

how to run RM50 combo VERY clean and loud?

@kc2eeb - My friend had just suggested the same thing! Total sync, I am definitely going to try that! So basically from guitar to GNX3, then GNX3 to serial fx return, and that should bypass the preamp modules entirely. Perfect, in theory. Can't wait to try it out tonight! @kc2eeb - Tell me...

how to run RM50 combo VERY clean and loud?

I'm new here, so please excuse any breech of etiquette. I recently purchases an RM50 combo used that came with a Deluxe and a Modern module. It's my first tube amp, and my first amp that's loud enough to gig with. I have a DigiTech GNX3 that I adore, and want to setup the RM50 to be loud and...
