Surprised nobody mentioned the IICP. Like the amp it's not going to do both the cleanest clean + the most evil gain but you can get close enough on both channels with the right settings.
Powerball as well as XTC/Uber can get cleanish and extremely brutal.
The new 6505 might be able to get...
I couldn't resist buying a Mooer Tube Engine because I got a pretty good deal and I gotta be honest, It sounds pretty good. It doesn't have a lot of headroom or volume but through a loud 2x12 or 4x12 it can keep up with a drummer. I considered upgrading the output transformer but what's the...
I actually returned my IICP because I thought it was a busted relay...I was getting a huge sharp pop when switching channels. Apparently it's just a quirk which is minimized when the clean and lead volumes are nearly identical. I'd have to get another one to try out.
There's no such thing as too much gain!
The HBE hate comes from folks who don't like high gain. IMO unless you're looking for low gain sounds the HBE is better than the BE. You can turn the gain down and do mid-gain stuff, or crank the gain and go nuts. HBE has less gain than Uber...
If you like the VH4 pedal maybe consider the Herbert module?
Your V:25 kinda negates having the IICP though they aren't totally identical. I'd say you want the HBE, Powerball, Deliverance and Uber. SLO is cool but it's not as gainy as the ones I mentioned. HBE > BE. Savage is "fatter" while...
All the things you mentioned have the first 12ax7 for the input stage. The Syn 30 and 50 have the extra tubes for the various extra functions - Clean Channel (Syn30), Phase inverter (both) and I'm guessing FX loop (both). The actual functionality of the module is the same in all of them - Input...
