If you could have only 2

I have a Syn-2 module and I'm wondering which 2 high gain modules are the best to span the heavier side of hard rock to "**** and barf" metal. Here are my nominees: Fryette Pitbull, Engl Savage and Bogner Uberschall, in no particular order. Which two should I get and why.

    T/DLX vs BEBB

I love the BE/BB. The clean tone is very thick but, as one of the other guys said, you'll want to run a distortion pedal into it to get a good driven sound from the clean BB side of that module, as it doesn't drive itself all that well. With that said, the BB is a beautiful, fat clean. The BE...

Just got my first 2 modules, Pitbull and Ecstasy, wow

+1 on the Pitbull. Can't comment on the Ecstasy. The Pitbull is my 4th Synergy module and unfortunately, there's no a Syn-3 so it's with a heavy heart that my Friedman BE/BB (also friggin' amazing) is not in use. Other than the Pitbull, I've got a Savage in my Syn-2, which is like the...

"Unsung" played through the Synergy/Fryette Pitbull

In 2018 I saw Prong and Helmet and I was awestruck by Helmet's live guitar tone - heavy but crystal clear - so when Synergy and Fryette did the Pitbull module I had to get one. Of course, I have yet to play this module live or even at a jam (my other "heavy" module is the Engl Savage, which is...

I ran a test of the Judge vs Friedman BE/BB (BE channel)

I have a BE/BB but I've never played the Judge so all I can do is add my 2 cents about the BE/BB. The BB side of that amp has a beautiful clean tone but I agree the BE side could use a little more gain - it's great for a classic rock/hair metal tone or an Alice in Chains tone if you turn the...

Most versatile Marshall type setup with two modules?

If you live in the US, put some that stimulus check towards a syn-2. I've got a syn-2 and wish there was a syn-3

SYN-2 power switch and module suggestions

I guess the reacharound will feel second-nature soon but I could see where finding/twisting yourself to the back of syn-2 could get old. I use a rack where my power coniditioner is the on/off button for all 3 items (syn-2, effects unit, power amp) in unison. To your next question about the...

    Do I get into Synergy?

So far, I'm very happy with mine. I formerly played the 50 watt EVH 5150 iii mini, which I loved, but I dig the Synergy tones through my Syn-2 into my Rocktron Velocity 300 (with Reactance and Definition pretty much dimed). Like ChrisB, one of my channels is the BE/BB (excellent clean and...

Most versatile Marshall type setup with two modules?

I can only speak to my first-hand experience but the Synergy BE-BB gives you a fantastic clean tone on one of its channels with the second channel an old school Marshall-type dirt that nails 80's metal and early 90's grunge medium (borderline high gain tones) with the gain turned up. Probably...

Can the SYN2 run with only one module?

Also, I'm living proof that you can run just one module, no problem. I'm not loaded so I only had one module (Engl Savage) in my Syn-2 for a while and was just fine. It was only a week ago that I got my second module (Friedman BE-BB) used.

Get an EVH 5150 blue channel sound with BE/BB?

@Mattalica - you've got a point, as I've used the blue channel of the Savage for my guitar solo/effected tones and sounds pretty good there but frankly I use my blue Channel of the Savage to do the work of my EVH's red channel, while the red channel of the savage is a tone I'll use here and...

Get an EVH 5150 blue channel sound with BE/BB?

Mostly tone - I want a tighter tone. So would it sound reasonable that I turn the bass/mid/treble controls back to like 5 and increase the volume accordingly? Gain isn't quite as important - although I'll take as much as I can get out of this thing.

Get an EVH 5150 blue channel sound with BE/BB?

I'm new to the Synergy world and my current rig is based around the ENGL Savage and the BE/BB in my Syn-2. This rig was designed to replace my EVH 5150 iii 50 watt and the Engl module is like a meaner red channel of the 5150 and a meaner than mean channel so my high gain appetite is satisfied...

What Synergy module has good cleans AND distortions?

Anybody know a Synergy module with a great clean tone on 1 channel and a decent overdrive/distortion on the 2nd channel? This way, the other module can be really mean distortion and may be a Salvation or Jaded faith one-channel mod
