The voicing scoops it out a bit. It makes it a bit meaner. Never had the sl2 but compared to the the sl it's a bit darker (on the same eq settings) tho u can easily brighten it out with eq. It's smooth tight and has more gain on tap than the sl

I guess using EL34 in the power section of your amp would get u closer vs using 6L6s, 6v6, etc since The XTC is all EL34 (at least most of them)

you could also try a power break like Dr Z AirBrake lite or a speaker with lower efficiency

I played with a Mark V amp and it was **** hard to come to a good sound for me to dirt. I liked the clean channel tho. Weird.. How does the module compared to the Mark V and which channel / mode is similar too
