I've blown two sets of speakers (though unrelated to the power, I think...) so in general trying to find out what's wrong the thing the amp tech did some sort of power test on it.

How loud did you have the amp's master? May be unrelated, but my RM100 turns out to be 140W, not 100, so could have something similar and done weird things to the attenuator...

So, just for anyone curious (or has a similar problem): The amp's fine apart from one thing; it's not outputting 100W, it's 140W! Might invest in some better speakers this time! This thing's seriously powerful...

May as well bring up an old thread... Urgh, done it again; blown both speakers. Was at low volume at home and they both just stopped sounding. Exactly the same as before, both speakers now barely register a resistance on my Multimeter. Time to take the amp back to Hot Rox (repair shop)... So...

Just to clarify, presumably you already have tubes in there already but have one new replacement? What are the current tubes in the positions currently and how old are they?

Can you get the sound you want from it at those levels?

It's a pity really, Mr Van Donk is a really skilled Martial Artist but you really can't learn the art without touching anyone, you have to be able to manipulate the other person's body structure by feel alone and there's no way you can do that from a DVD! Surely he would know this... Bizarre...
