ned, I like the xlr on the tube protector idea! Make things as easy as possible for the production crew and like you said, consistancy! Does the Palmer emulate your Mod 50 sound closely, or does it require a fair amount of eq to match what's coming out your amps speaker?

Graham, I am happy with the 609 too, I was just curious as to why these guys opt for a DI vs a mic'd cabinet. I'm assuming it's to reduce the number of mics on stage...less chance for feedback and bleed over.
