Randall rt2/50, no output from channel 1

One other possibility: I once powered up my RT 2/50 with no speaker load attached. This caused a short across the output speaker jack module, leaving me with no sound on one channel while the other was fine. Not sure if this applies to your situation.

Tube Recommendations for Egnater M4 Modules

Hi, all - it's been a long time since I've posted. I still use my Egnater M4 / Randall RT2/50 combo as my main rig. It's so kickass I just don't desire anything else at this point. My modules are COD, VX, SL2X, and DLX/DLX. One issue I've had since day one is that the clean side of the VX is...

anyone out there using the original egnater modules?

Yep! I am using an M4 with D/D, VX, COD, and SL2 modules. My power amp is a Randall RT 2/50 with reduced-output power section tubes.

Looking for a 2/4 slot rackmount preamp--where to buy one?

I use a Rocktron MidiMate foot controller to switch my M4 and Randall RT2/50 - the Randall is also MIDI-controllable - as well as two Eventide FX pedals on my pedalboard. But there are tons of good options for MIDI controllers.

    Egnater T/D?

I have a D/D module, which they would make on request. Yes, the T/D module has the Twin on one channel and the Deluxe on the other. The Twin has a ton of headroom, it's very clean. The Deluxe will get dirty for sure and sounds really good when you push the gain up. I can't offer a tone...

    Throttling Back My RT2/50

Bruce, thanks much for joining in. So are you suggesting using a 12AT7 or 12AU7 in place of the middle 12AX7, and keeping the original 6L6 and EL34 (or similar) tubes? Will that lower the input gain to the power section?

    Throttling Back My RT2/50

The tones are very cool. It records well and gigs well on either channel. The EL84s in the Yellow Jacket triode converters break up pretty early and it's really easy to dial in whatever amount of power section saturation you want. At the point of dialing in a good gritty sound, increasing the...

    Throttling Back My RT2/50

Hi, all - Egnater M4 / Randall RT2/50 user here. This is my first forum post. I used to post and read about Egnater M4 info in the Egnater forum at Rig Talk, but hadn't checked in for a while over there and now I see that no one is talking modular, and now the modular talk is happening here...
