I've been looking into this mod a little. I found a few clips and Videos and I like what I see. I know some of you love this mod. Please all the info you can give me, videos, clips, what amp is it modeled after, any info.[/i]

Wow they know what they want for that amp!!

I'll stick to the module.

 I'm well aware of what they want for that amp. Up until a couple days ago, I had two of them.

Anyway, if you want piece of mind, I'll post what I was telling Fig about it (keep in mind I have the dual channel version). The CCV is a beast all to itself. There are so many switches that change the tone and the combination of these switches just can't be replicated in module form. I would never sell the CCV I kept, it's a special amp.

That said, the Camerock is around 90%+ of the actual amp. It loses around that 10% in flexibility ALONE, not tone. When ordering mine, I should have been a bit more specific about the qualities and settings I was looking for and I accept full responsibility for that. Anthony created one hell of a module to even come close to duplicating this amp.

As far as tone I'd say 3 parts Marshall, 2 parts Bogner, 1 part Soldano? Does that sound fair? I'm always told it's more Bogner-ish, but I keep hearing Marshall.

I love my Camerock! It has such a great open feel, but can be dialed in for modern compression too.
FWIW, I profiled my Camerock on my KPA then used it to for 90% of the rhythm sounds and the ending lead section. The KPA did a great job of capturing the mic placement I had that day...I love the hi gain sound combined with the Plexi-ish articulation on the seperation of strings- you can hear it on the main riff that kicks in. The last section I played lead and used lots of mids. (The other 2 leads were not me nor the Camerock)

The toggles are all very reactive- making some owners flip it too quickly...there's plenty of gold to be found though, I have at least a half dozen settings that I love on this module

-brief interjection (I don't have a Camerock or a CCV)-

That song is really cool Ray, I really dig it!

-carry on...-

My Camerock is absolutely sacred to me...People that don't get it the first few times should not be discouraged. It's complex beauty. There is more true versatility built into this mod than any other I know. A flip of a toggle in many cases is a subtle thing, on the Camerock it can make a drastic change. Couple that issue with several toggles and you could tweak to death. Once you hit something and refine it, you can spin gold with this thing!

Well said.

It is so tweakable, you can dial in lots of tones, great and not so great. The range of different tones is staggering, but that just insures that it will work with many different rigs, imo.

But like Fig said, when you find 'the' tone(s) in the Camerock, it is unbelievably good. And it's then you realize why people went nuts for Mark Cameron's amps.

Cranky ray is is blowin my mind tonight. I've listened to some good *** **** from him this evening.

The Camerock like its big brother is difficult to dial in. Glorious module, truly mind blowing when I think about it.

I'm also contemplating getting one (or two) dual camerock based on a eggie module. I've only tried the Cameron ccv very briefly but was very impressed with it really suiting heavier pentatonic bluesy rock/metal. What sound were you looking for Drewiv, what do you wish you have had specifically requested upon ordering your dual camerock?

Hey, thanks for the heads up blacksun - checked it out but I'm in Canada and it says he will only ship to USA, the ad doesn't even appear on ebay.ca, but thanks anyhow man!

After further review of my module, I RETRACT my previous post. The Bright 1 switch, where the standard Bright on an Eggie is, is what I was looking for. ****, how'd I miss that. I spent the past two hours dialing in again and, yes, it's VERY CCV. From classic to brutal, it's all there.

As far as what I was looking for in the module (and my CCV), I was looking for the "Mark" take on Marshall/Bogner/SLO. I had modded Marshalls by Mark, still have a 1987X, and I wanted his flagship. The CCV is truly it. For the price, the module is well worth the price of admission. Definitely performa better with EL34s and unfortunately most my modules prefer 6L6 and that's what is loaded in my MOD50s. I have a mix (EL34/6L6) in my MOD100 and that's where the module shines for me. I'm going to swap tubes in a MOD50 and see if I can make the other modules work, maybe a set of KT77, we'll see.

I didnt care for the Camerock at all...I could not for the life of me get it to sound like the clips....I am glad there are some people out there enjoying this one. Just wasnt for me. Looking at Drew's post, he's had two of these, his word and opinion would likely be the most accurate- It might just be that I wouldnt care for a real CCV either?

Tone is very subjective. Plus, don't take anything I say to heart, I'm an idiot. The CCV is difficult to dial in, the Camerock is even harder. There is zero room for error, it seems. I didn't mess with the Bright 1 switch and was rather disappointed with CH A of the module. CH B was wired for full blast CCV, so it was good off the bat. I didn't realize Bright 1 was NOT a simple Bright switch, but Bright 1 of the CCV - this made a HUGE difference. When I centered it, it felt like home.

Note - I haven't been playing much for a couple reasons, which is why my findings are new. First, my wife and I have been careing for our niece over the past few months. Second, and most concerning, I'm developing a growth between the metacarpals of my index and middle fingers on the back of my left hand. It seems surgery is the only solution and I'm not all for that. Unfortunately, my playing is becoming decreased due to the frustration and pain. Getting old sucks!

Wow, Drew, that really sucks. Sorry to hear it. I'd second the recommendation to get it looked at. I mean, I hate going to the doctor, but this sounds like it could permanently kill off one of your hobbies if you're not careful.
