Hi all,
I recently noticed that when I switch from the gain channel to the clean channel of the IICP module, I get a noticeable but brief, jump in volume in the clean channel. I wish that wasn’t the case or the other way around (jump in volume going from clean to the gain channel). I was wondering if anybody else experienced this?

I’m running the IICP into a SYN-1 with the stock footswitch.

Hi there. I have found the same issue with a new IICP module that I bought 2 weeks back here in germany and put into my SYN-50. I then ordered another IICP module from the same supplier to test it and experience the same thing. So, with two modules from a recent batch it behaves identically to what you describe. Honestly I am not even sure if this is a bug, because the channels in the module are connected anyhow, as we know, so maybe others experience this also or never bothered. The module itself sounds perfect, it is only happening when you switch from gain to clean.
I posted a similar question in the Egnater/MTS/Synergy facebook group and just got 1 reply saying that it is not happening for him.
Also switching tubes made zero difference.
From when is your module?
I was suspecting, if this is not the common behaviour of the module, that one of the OMRON relais or the Xvive optocouplers is behaving this way. But I do not know.

Hey Habakkuk, thanks for replying and confirming this with your own IICP modules. I got my module new from Synergy on November, 2022. I reached out to Synergy and Blad confirmed with me that the IICP apparently is designed to operate this way. He said the only way to prevent that would be to have the module modified somehow.

The module sounds fantastic in either channel so I’m just going to leave it as is. I used to own a great sounding Mark IV years back and this is the closest I have gotten to that sound without buying another one.

I actually returned my IICP because I thought it was a busted relay...I was getting a huge sharp pop when switching channels. Apparently it's just a quirk which is minimized when the clean and lead volumes are nearly identical. I'd have to get another one to try out.
