The only issue I have in using modular stuff is how soft the clean stuff is vs. the high gain stuff. I love the sound of my JF Twin and AC30. However, I am also using the Dumble OD, Synergy HBE or XTC. The higher gain mods sound best when I have their volumes up around 2:00. The clean mods...

I have three amps all modded by Rob. I am not sure about the stock modules sounding a lot better, but the modded ones do and they sounded **** good to begin with.

I have a single mod form Salvation and like another mod from JF that doesn't just seat right and squeals when I turn up the gain or turn on the high gain switch. I press on the faceplate and it goes away. Try that and if that is the case I have a quick fix for you.
