This may be a foolish move on my part, but what are your favorite EL34s and what do you avoid? I am usually a fender style 6L6 guy, but my RM50 with the EL34s needs new tubes and I was curious what you folks think. Best vs. Worst? thanks in advance

Thanks both of you. I tried crunchbunch's recommendation and that seemed to be the issue. When I switched places on the tubes, I got almost the same differences. They were matched at one point but no longer I guess. This is much easier than paying someone to put in a new resistor.

Any of you had this issue? I was biasing my EL34's and I set one at say, 35 and go to the second one. I set it for 35 and then re-checked the first one and it had gone down to 22. I re-set it for 35 and then the second one will have jumped up to something like 47 and on and on. Am I missing...

I would try the Vybe Deluxe for that kind of tone or possibly a Tweed Bassman. I have gotten some nice tones with my Dumble clone but I sure hear that tone as in the Fender space, especially the Modded tweed.

Any idea when the synergy Dirty Shirley might appear anyone?

Anyone aware of any modders doing a Friedman dirty Shirley? I just played one today and it is similar to y JF Bluesbreaker, but I like the three way gain switch. With a mod, I could use my RM50 for the Dirty Shiley or the RM20 with the EL84s for the mini.

Like I said earlier, Using the RM4 into the GSP with some of the Ownhammer or Redwirz IRs really sound great.....even with our any power section modeling.
