    My 2 cents on the Rectified and 1086 modules...

    Recto set-up without 482i or GT-6: GE-7 ==> 100Hz = -5dB, 200Hz = -5dB, 400Hz = +6dB, 800Hz = +12dB, 1.6kHz = +10dB, 3.2kHz = +10dB, 6.4kHz = +1dB Recto ==> Gain = 2:30, Bass = 2:00, Mid = 4:00, Treb = 4:00, bright = left Ruby 12AX7A's EQ-3b ==> Low : Gain = 1:30, BW = 10:00...

    My 2 cents on the Rectified and 1086 modules...

    Strato62, I can't remember every setting 'exactly', but here is what I remember (at work). Also keep in mind that my Recto has C3 = 470. Guitar : bridge pick-ups, volume = max, tone = max --> GE-7 *: 100Hz = ~ -4dB, 800Hz ~ +12dB, 1.6kHz ~ +10dB --> Recto : Gain = 8-9 o'clock, Low = ~ 1-3...

    My 2 cents on the Rectified and 1086 modules...

    I'm going to buck the system and say I like the Recto more than the 1086. That being said, I have spent a few weeks with the Recto, but only an hour or so (spread over a few sessions) on the 1086. I also did not like the Recto out of the box and for the same main reason as you : too muddy in...

    Which module for metal

    I tune D-d and I much preferred the UltraXL to the 1086 when A/B'ed them at the store. To me the XL was tighter in the low end and gave me a 'cleaner' response to fast palmed picking of the chiggity-chuggity variety. However, the 1086 held a slight tone advantage when it came to 'the big...

    Help - I wanna mod my mids in my mods!!

    You should be able to do it w/o any problems. As to which specific caps/resistors to mess with, I don't have a clue. I mainly posted to compliment you on your tongue twister of a subject line. Thomas PS - try this : http://mtsforum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=1427&highlight=tone+stack. I...

    Which module for metal

    I go back and forth between the Ultra and the Recto (w/ C3 = 470). The Ultra will get you closer to Slipknot I think. The Recto I didn't like much until I used my Boss GE-7 in front of it with a big mid-boost setting. With the pedal, I like it quite a bit. Thomas

    M4 maybe up FS

    Hey Shredder, is it too late to call dibs on the possibly/maybe for sale empty M4? :lol: *squawk squawk* (or whatever noises vultures make) Thomas

    Problem with RM20 combo - loud hum/unstable on certain notes

    Jim, Darn good trouble-shooting there. Are either one of the 1M resistors labled that you can see? (i.e. R23, R38, R??). The resistor(s) could be bad. I'm wondering if those resistors are part of a filter. The bad resistor could be acting as a dead short at certain frequencies which might...

    M4 maybe up FS

    I'm definitely interested in buying an empty M4. As for timing, put it up for sale in about six weeks. That should give you time to close that deal and collect the $ before turning it right back over to Bruce for your Mod100. Should minimize your 'ampless' time. Or you could sell it...

    Worst modules?

    Tried the Clean, but agree with just about everyone, too lifeless and stale. It's almost like an audiophile type of pre, almost sounded like a digital modeler now that I think about it. Have the Recto (black stripe) and actually like it more for cleans than high gain. Liked it quite a bit for...

    Parametric EQ's

    I picked up a Presonus EQ-3B the other day. It's a 3-band fully parametric single channel and they're $100 new online or at GC, although the GC in Plano said they weren't going to carry them any more. I'm using it in the series loop of my RM50 combo with the Ultra. I'm still experimenting...

    I would have never expected...

    I picked up a Presonus EQ-3B the other day for $100 new. It's a 3 band fully parametric EQ (single channel). The EQ-3B + Ultra module = Dime tone for days. Thomas

    Greetings from a t00b n00b and a question or two

    Hello all, I'm new to the MTS world and tube amps in general. I just (about a week ago) got my RM50 with Recto (470 C3) and Ultra. Love it so far. I actually wanted a Blackface, unfortunately, the store I went to was out so I took the Recto instead. So the question is, what is the best...
