Ned - I choose the head/112 route for flexibility and versatility. In the studio I have the heads in the control room, cabs in the live room, etc... I also have a collection of other cabs - 412 w/Heritage Greenbacks, 212 open back, 112 open back.

Mr SID - I have the Egnater dual channel modules. The SL and SL2 are the vintage and hot Marshally sounding mods. EVH territory yes, but without his hands and DNA, YMMV.

I ocassionally use the Boss pedal into the A channel of the SL when playing slide, otherwise it doesn't really get used. I'm thinking about replacing it with another compresor (different model, different settings.)

johnmfer - The MIDI OUT of the footswitch goes to the MIDI IN of the first amp, then I jump the MIDI THRU from the first amp over to the MIDI IN of the second amp. Both amps switch at the same time!

Ziggy - both modules clean up quite well when rolling down the guitar volume. They are great with single-coils, humbuckers and Filter'trons, too.

I have a MOD50 head and can't say enough about it. Solid, reliable, TONEFUL. I'm using the Egnater DLX and SL dual channel modules the most, followed by the EG3/4 and VX. I've been playing it through the new oversize 112 cab with a CL80 or a 412 with Heritage Greenbacks. I play at large...
