I don't have a Randall MTS amp but I have a B-52 AT-212. How can I tell if I can fit KT88's in the amp? More tightness and growl is what I need :D (though its already tight as **** with the solid state rectifier switched on, but if i switch it to the Class A mode and drop tune its too loose.)

Mullard tubes are known to be smoother and more detailed, but without being harsh or fizzy. Those might be what you are looking for.

What about the "Grail?" the description described it has having a thick low mid range and someone said it was similar to the old Rectifiers.

I would not use those either. I'm being picky but since I cant try anything out I must. From those clips, the Ultra, 1080, modern, and recto sounded very similar. This is because of the recording quality.
