honestly, many of the gainy modules sound similar..if i could give you any advice it would be go for 1 clean module, 1 nice low-mid crunch module, and one high gain. lets see...i vote: Twin, Brahma, modded XTC

What you will miss is the FEEL of those amps, OD100 amps feel awesome! they are fat yet chime at the same time, really, really good tones...tough to get in a module. good luck!

should try that jcm 800 with a bodd sd-1 and see how the results are effected, also how high was the gain on the JVM? I found lower gain works better on those amps to avoid the fizz

call me crazy but a stock XTC with the gain on about 3.5-4 will give you serious JCM 800 punch and grind that many "high" gain modules like the Scary just cant offer.

Brahma seems to be voiced a little more modern...kinda like a lower gain SLO type sound mixed with Marshall, the plexis have more pure midrange like a Marshall without the modern SLO-ish feel.

Make sure the phase inverter is matched closely for best tone, and I know this is overgeneralizing, but in general i have found that preamp tubes when given the same voltage, the ones that glow brighter sound richer...at loud volumes tubes make little to no differtence..invest in a good cab and...

I agree with the XTC module idea...of all the modules I have tried, it gets the best punchy, low-mid growl...many of the other modules simply dont have the growl of the XTC get one modded!

WTB: Im looking for a Judge or any Friedman modded Brown/Black Eye modules if anyone can help a guy out shoot me a pm ...I want to post a WTB add in the classified section, but I cant yet even though I have bought and sold thousands of dollars worth of stuff on other forums.

those look pretty awesome. I like the idea of the "Mark" series module...so many classic tones from Petrucci to Metellica...might it cover some Santana territory too?
