It has been discussed that jumping the parallel loop and turning up the Effects knob helps thicken up the amp at lower volumes. Curious if it is necessary at gig volume?

I picked up a stock XTC with the intention of having it turned into a JF XTC. I gotta say its not too bad and my impression of it is more favorable than I anticipated. Gets pretty wooly and grungy, but its fun to mess around with it as a different tone. Still going to Rob eventually though :)
