I rehearsed a few times with one. I didn't get to do much with it, since it belonged to another person in the band I was guesting with. I imagine it takes some tweaking to get likable sounds, but it is certainly a powerful device.

Yes, back when I had my highly tweaked MTS setup, Mr Scary was my primary module. The only module I ever came across that sounded great along the entire travel of the gain knob. FTR, I never tried a $300+ module like a Friedman or Salvation.

I got the best results out of a GE gray plate type in the PI, and used whatever in the loop position. I used a variety of NOS types, black plate RCA types in Marshall style, and GE gray plate types in Fender style. Changes were mostly in "texture" rather than "tone" tho. Biggest differences...
