Tube power amp for synergy syn-1

I had the Fryette PS2 and honestly it didn't work for me. It is a little more hi-fi than I liked. It lacks the midrange bark that some of the high gain modules needed. Not to knock it well made piece of gear and with certain modules like the Deliverance, Vai, Savage will be great for it. But...

Tube power amp for synergy syn-1

I use the KSR PA-50 which is a mono 50 watt amp. Supports EL34 or 6L6. Bias adjustment on the front. Has bass, presence and the all import negative feedback adjustment so you can really dial the power amp. On top has a hi-fi switch that brightens up the overall tone of the amp (great for...

    Fryette Power Station PS2

@hblu - I love the KSR PA50. With the hi-fi switch off, it is just voiced better for preamps. The NFB also allows you to fine tune the amp to taste. I am so glad I bought one.

    Fryette Power Station PS2

I wanted to share my experience with the PS2. After a lot of consideration, I bought the PS2 and I was very disappointed in the results, so I sent it back just as quickly. First let me say this is a great product and used for its primary intention, it is the best way to attenuate a loud amp...

    Engl Savage vs Powerball

Between the two Engl modules which one do you like better the Savage or the Powerball? Based on knowledge of the amps, I would think Savage for me, but I see a lot of praise for the Powerball. I have never used Engl before, but I opened for Last in Line and Vivian Campbell used an Engl...

    Fryette Power Station PS2

Has anyone compared the PS2 as a power amp to the Syn 50-50 or Fryette LXII as a power amp? I have no need for stereo so I am leaning towards this over one of those two. I just wasn't sure how it compares as a power amp.

I wonder if the Uber is too much gain but it definitely intrigues me. The HBE gets a lot of hate but I suspect that is a love / hate depending on style. I think I am leaning towards HBE over BE. The SLOs gain should be fine as something different. Based on experience and reviews I think I...

New to Synergy looking for recommendations

I am taking the plunge and need a recommendation on a few modules. Overall I play rock/metal and favor higher gain tones. I have at home a Mark V 25 and Marshal SV20 as well as the Diezel VH4 pedal, all of which sound good. I used a MB TC50 for live playing today. I would go IICp but figure...
