I tried all kinds of mixing and matching with power tubes over the past year or so and ended up with 6550's and 34's as my go to power section glass. I bought some Winged C EL34's and fired up the RM100 with just a pair in it to see how they stacked up against my standard mix.
There was just something better about the 34's on their own that I liked. They seemed a bit more crunchy and the lows were smoother and less thud like. Who knows, I could change my mind again next month but for now, I am digging the new glass.
