So what are everyones fav's for the Randall modules (not counting the Egnater ones, at least not yet)? I play in a cover band where we do mostly rock, everything from classic to current... Hollies, Metallica to Sublime, AC/DC to Fall Out Boy, but we throw in a few country tunes and some funk and a couple blues tunes. Are there any of the Randall Modules that no one uses or where the common consenses is that it sucks?

My fav's are the Ultra, Recto/Treadplate (Pete modded orange channel), and Blackface. I also have a Pete modded SL+ that rocks the hi-gain Marshall tone something fierce. I push that one a little with a pedal when I want to go all Zakk.

About the only modules I've ever heard anyone say 'sucked' was the Clean module and the Modern. HOWEVER, there are a few who like the Clean module and a couple months ago the Modern had some kind of Phoenix-esque rise from the ashes thing. When they were new it seemed like everyone who had one wanted to get rid of them. Then a few months ago they suddenly became desirable. Go figure.

The Clean isn't bad per se, its just a little too Clean (meaning sterile). I'm not knocking it as a bad module, just that it's not what a lot of us here want for a clean (low gain) tone.

All in all, I would not say any of them 'suck'. It's just that some will fit your tastes and others won't.
