I did mine with push/pull pots, which I ordered directly from Mesa. With the push/pull installation, you don't have to do any chassis modifications, and it's selectable on a per-channel basis. Rather than replacing the volume pots, I would have preferred to replace the presence pots instead, but there is no room inside to replace those with push/pulls due to the transformers.
But I should have put the ohmmeter on the push/pull pots before I installed them, because the volume drops when in the pulled ("deep") position, and I'd like to know if it's because of the pots. It's not a drastic volume change, but it is noticable. It doesn't bother me too much, and honestly I find myself using it mostly in normal mode anyway.
