this is kind of hard to explain. when i run my delay through the loop (either one) it comes back like a transister radio very fussy sounds nothing like it should & @ one time it did. it's not the peddle, it works fine through guitar. also sense that started my clean channel breaks up very easy if u hit the strings just a little hard. but does not running through guitar & its louder through guitar. so i am convinced ther is somthing wrong in loop. thanks for any help on this rod

Try changing the tubes. Not in the preamp but the 12ax7 tubes in the back of the amp. Might not be your problem but it was mine. I bought a new Rocktron Xpression and I thought it sounded terrible. Very digital sounding and I was going to try another brand. I retubed my RM100 before selling the Rocktron and that completely fixed for me. Sounds great now.

i changed the loop tubes & the pre tube did not fix problem but does sound better just playing. none of my tubes are 12ax7 theloop, pre, & all modular tubes are ecc 83 s. i changed loop & pre to 12ax7 should i change the mod tubes as well.

I don't think changing the mod tubes would do anything.

Maybe someone else will chime in soon with some other ideas.

you know,i had experienced a very similiar issue with my rm50hb head.when i used my boss dd-3 pedal thru the effects loop, serial or parallel,i would hear a very distinct "swishing/swooshing" noise in the background while i was picking notes.this really bothered the hell out of me & colored(for lack of a better term)the tone...and not for the better.the delay pedal sounded absolutely normal when plugged in front of the amp's input jack.i had tried this pedal in another brand amp & did not have this concern.also,i brought my delay pedal with me down to a local music store that carries the rm50hb mts head and heard the same thing in that brand-new amp as well...otherwise,since i no longer own the rm50hb head,it doesnt really matter anymore, but after reading this thread,it caught my attention enough to respond.unfortunately,i don't have any advice to give ya,but i hope you can resolve the matter.

hey!

i think your overloading the pedal in the effects loop. the effects loop sends +4db into your pedal which im guessing is designed to handle the
-10db that your guitar puts out.

to check this, turn the level on your modules down. if the sound your hearing cleans up then thats the problem.

check out the topic i started about similar effects loop problems. Bruce "Almighty" Egnater himself chimed in and agreed thats the problem so give it a try!!
