sold my duel rec today and ordered an rm4, rt2 and some modules. i dont have buyers regret about the mts equiptment but wanted to hear some opinions about mts heads vs rm4. i definatelly will want more modules than one rm4 could hold or head for that matter. do teh heads for what ever reason have any kind of better tonal qualities to them? i only ask because i came across some head deals that didnt seem bad but think i still made teh right decision for what my intentions are (6+ modules and el34/6l6's selection).
thanks

I have 3 MTS Rigs: and RM50, RM100 and RM4 with RT2/50. Love them all. The rack gives me the most versatility with 4 slots and actually sounds best to me, but I stopped gigging with it last month. My rack is 6 spaces and 94 pounds! It's tough to transport and sucks for a lot of the Philly venues we play that have stairs. The RM100 is my road rig of choice and is a great amp. Enough options and I can still use my MIDI setup to control everything. The RM50 is my bedroom rig since I have to use different switching for that amp. Actually looking to unload it towards another RM100 that I can leave at practice. Great amps all around. I don't think you can go wrong tonally with any of them. I love them all.

If you go or prefer the route with RM4 and RT2/50, you can put the RT2/50 into a rack and the RM4 (plus effects processor etc.) into another rack. That way the racks won't become too heavy.

the rm4/rt2 have been ordered that a done deal. expecting delivery this wed. i had just come across 2 different head deals just poking around and got me thinking if i had made the right decision.
i have thought about seperating the gear wiht two different racks for transportation.
how bout heat, do these units created anymore heat than anyother regular rack gear (pre/power amps)? are additional cooling fans needed?

Heat's never been an issue for me with any of my rigs. They all have fans and that seems to do the job nicely. I thought about splitting the rack up into 2, but that's more hassle and gear to buy. :?

Just got a lynch box and cant say enuff good things about it. great tones so far. im getting ready to take it on its first gig insyead of my rectifier just have to get a little more comfy with it. And Im still Waiting For Casters! for it (came without them in the box)

the reason i got rid of my duel rec, it kept acting up with every little voltage drop as little as 2 volts. as long as there was some sort of drop all the gain just disappeared like i was playing a cheap solid state. sent it out three times to mesa through my dealer and just had enough. decided to let it go after finding this site and hearing some of the clips people posted here.
i havent been excited about an amp since i first got my duel rec. i dont miss the mesa. not with a pete modded recto available at anytime if i get buyers regret.
