I say JUMP! That is the ONLY way to get that "what if...." Feeling out of your system(LORD KNOWS I FELT THAT MAN TIMES!!)
But the great thing is that MTS will always be around and You will already know what to get NEXT TIME you will be back.

Hey Dan,

I know what ya mean but think of it as flipping expensive new amps into used amps and how devaluation keeps us in the po-house. MTS gives us almost every sound imaginable, (thanks to Bruce and all the Modders)

I say stick with MTS, put the challenge out to the Modders for a Mk-V or Diezle module and with the extra money, invest into something better, like vintage guitars that hold their value.

If I could stop being so **** busy I could make it down your way and take a look at that thing. Sometimes, life gets in the way of the truely important things.

Over the weekend. one of my employees brought me his JCM800 head that got burned up in a fire nearly 15 years ago. The fire was hot enough to pop the el34's, melted the handle, logo etc. He hasn't really played music since, but for some reason he's carried that lump of coal around with him like the baggage from a bad relationship, just sick about it.

He had heard about me working on my Randall and cautiously asked me to take a look at it. So I put it up on my 4-12, popped in a new set of 34's, plugged in my guitar and I'll be damned if it didn't start playing music! Sometimes its ok to see a grown man cry. 8)

Man you just need to go bet that bad boy Modded.... You need to get Mercury mags.. Bigger power supply need better tubes need to use modded modules and trust me you wont be talking that non sense...

I have owned way to mant amps and seriously need to srick with Randall Mts.. just need to get the right **** done to it. Also What cab are you using?

Dont get me wrong. I seriously love my Randall. I have found my tone here. But I have also found it with other amps too. I always sound like "me" no matter what rig Im jammin on. If I was a rich man Id keep the RM for sure. G.A.S. is a *****. If I wouldve held on to my old trusty recto that ive had forever, Id be in a different situation.

I like playing through different amps. Some people like getting new cars every year. I like amps. Its inspiring. All of my best riffs have been written on or shortly after NAD.

Kinda what I was getting at. Investing even half of the difference in the price of the Mk V back into your MTS and you WILL have the sound you desire...

I just picked up another RM100 (broken) but intend to have a dual head system up and running by the end of the month. (shudders in anticipation)

I would always get a different amp just to get that "WANT" feeling out of the way. To prove that GRASS ISNT GREENER syndrome true.
After a short 'honeymoon' with a new amp....I would always come back to MTS. But I would come back with new eyes and ears knowing what I was looking for since I had previous experience. And killed one life of the "curiousity killed the cat"
