Has anyone else noticed how crappy the footswitches are?

I have a RM100M head and the 2nd button on my factory footswitch no longer works. I bought a 4 button (randall) to use in the meantime and now it's crapping out on me at gigs. Has anyone else noticed this?

On a related note, which midi footswitch should I get if I want to incorporate a rack multi fx processor (g major, intellifex, etc.)? I see a lot of people use the Behringer one. I don't really want a ground control pro or all access because of the size. I kinda want something that could sit in a small bag/case on top of my rack. Any advice?
