Has anyone installed a set of KT66's in a RM100? If so what did you think? What did you set the bias for? I am thinking about installing a pair if not a quad. Thanks Rodney

Today I installed a set of Sovtec Kt66 in my RM100 w a pair of Ruby EL34 tighter bass nice highs. Well I wasnt quite satisfied with the compete tone so I remove the Ruby El34's and Installed a set of JJEL34L and biased it up. Sounds phenominal (Great), I am not so sure about the Sovtec tubes but the JJEL34's sound incredible in this configuration.

I just pasted some collected info on biasing on my page for the MTS gear.
Check out http://www.bandslink.com/randall.htm

You can find out most of this info via the manual or online searches, but I get tired of searching...

I'm looking into the KT66 variety too. We should be aware here there are true KT66s and what I call KT6L6s. Most likely I will go with one off the latter, probably Tung-Sols.
Wow, those TS KT6L6s are linear and bright in deed - and strong! I prefer these for cleans or Bluesbreaker sound. They distort in a very trebly and harsh way, I find, and would go well in a dark sounding amp or a HiFi amp.

Having said that they sort of lack the outrageous zing the original KT66s have, judging from recordings. EQ:ed and biased right these KT6L6s can assume a rather pleasant, bright tone yet with a abottom end and that's never brittle.

I use these for my Fender sound and the TS STR for my Marshall sound.
