Anybody else realize that these 2 modules are identical? I a/b'ed both of them and the only difference is the type of components used. Otherwise, the values of each component are the same, including the pots.

The MrScary is slightly warmer/darker that breathed a little easier. So, I sold my SL+.

Absolutely love my pre JCM800 SL+. Am tempted to mod mine to the new specs, but why mess with success?

my GigSL+ has long been my goto; when I had a stock Scary before I did find it very similar and dealy it away

My recently acquired JF Scary sounds a bit thicker, a bit more saturated...overlap? Yes
but different enough to be interesting

I had a stock Mr Scary and liked it. Had JF mod it and agree with your tone description above. It took me a day or so to get used to it actually.

I just picked up a SL+ and like it a lot. My Marshall tones are covered. I need someone to buy my KH2 and KH3 so that I can try a modded Grail with an orange switch now.

The SL+ makes the sound I like best for Classic Rock lead....Period! 8)

The XTC is too muddy, but I'm planning to mod it soon

The Plexi is perfect for rhythm crunch.

The Deluxe is great for clean tones with just a pinch of bite when cranked.

I'm sure you could tweak them all to taste, but for me, it's hard to imagine a better setup (except maybe the RM4)

I have a single channel Egnater DLX and it sounds great. I find that I need to keep the master up on the amp to keep it clean though. It breaks up too fast if the master is low and the channel volume is up.
