I broke the kids' piggy banks and also found some coins in the couch, so I was able to drop $4.99 on GarageBand for iPad today. I've missed my old recording setup (Mbox/ProTools), and been recording the odd clip on my cell phone (not advised). Well, after posting a really crappy phone clip recently, I had had enough, so Apple is now 5 bucks richer because of me.

Recorded using a PRS Singlecut with an Anderson H3 bridge pickup, one Sennheiser 609 placed midway between speaker center and edge, and no editing or post pro.

Great upgrade man :). Sounds very good!

Not sure if I should listen to Godsmack or join the navy now...

Nice! That amp sounds pretty nice, especially given the price...Does it hold up to any other Fortin's you've had? I know it's kinda considered an "entry level" amp but you never know what the skilled hands of one can do with it...

Very curious...

Hey Fig, it's not going to hang with the totally tricked out JCM800 Fortin Cali mod that I have. However, it is Amazingly similar to my Fortin-modded Marshall Vintage Modern. It's got the signature Fortin grind to it, so it's very satisfying to play. And when you take into account this amp has a clean channel where you can set unity gain with the dirty ch, it's even more functional than the Marshall. The clean channel takes dirt pedals well, too. Even adds some bass thump (Fortin's mod to the clean ch), so your dirt pedals have plenty of low end.

Also, one very cool aspect of this amp - the boost switch does not really increase volume noticeably, it just adds a gain stage (1/2 of a preamp tube), so you can bring it in and out (on the clean and dirty channels) at pretty much unity. Totally gig worthy.
