I've no idea of Egnater is still doing this....and this took a little (well, a lot :D) longer than expected but here now and as you can see, it's working as advertised. We call these RMOD100s :

It's a really early RM100...seems to me the Master Volume is more usable range than any later one I had. Bruce also made a few mods to the circuit internally that were later production releases..

What is the reason that they are putting a stop to these mods?

I haven't seen anything official on it except what I'd read on a forum that they aren't doing these anymore.

If the rumor is true and I had to guess a reason, I'd say Egnater doesn't have the bandwidth right now...have you seen how many new products they are launching? (Tweaker, Armageddon etc. as well as finishing up the E2...)

You'll notice that the ads are still up so don't take it as official until you hear it from either Jeff or Bruce at Egnater.

The rumors are true. I e-mailed Egnater to request this mod, and Jeff replied saying that they are not performing the RM100 conversion mod at this time. Bummer. :(

I have e-mailed Bruce to see if I can at least get the components I need and maybe have the local Randall service guys here give it a try.

I've never heard of such a thing... Enlighten me.. Is it worth it?

RM100s are very easy to come by cheaply these days...the mod was $450 or $475...Egnater's price on the MOD100 was much more than this cost (granted it's a cheaper transformer in the Randall)..heck look at the prices of a MOD100 used and you'll see it's worth it financially at least.

As a functional piece...I can put any mix of Randall/Egnater modules in and have access to a 100W power section.....

...the only downside is definitely need a midi controller for it now (6 channels.)

This would be my 3rd RM100 over time now....and so far it's my favourite...I sold the others due to not getting on with the feel or it sounding a bit more sterile than a 50W. I'm not sure what the main difference is this time round except I am running it into a different cab (all WGS 'vintage' speakers).....but it still sounds great through my other cab with v30s...go figure.

The taper on the volume and depth have more usable range than I remember...that's either faulty memory or the fact that it's a very old RM100 (from first production according to Bruce and the logo on it.)
