New Les Paul Wiring Harness Day!
We've been doing some wiring harnesses this week.
these are for our 20th anniversary Lions we are building
Here is the prototype - 11 more to follow!
We are using the BKP 550k ohm long shaft CTS pots and the BKP/Jensen PIO caps
Many thanks to Frank at JPF amps for putting us onto the great silver content solder from Rapid Electronics - it makes life so much easier.
The neck volume control becomes the central point for earthing when we wire up - so it is the star point in star grounding.
We will connect the earth connections from the switch, from the earth wire from the bridge, from the solder tags in the screned cavities (yes we are thorough!) and from the pickup earths as well and then off to the earth side of the jack.
You'll see that we mount all our pots on a template before wiring up - makes for an easier and cleaner job
Also easier to do it this way than inside the LP body.
We sometimes wire harnesses for customers and post them out - the wooden plate helps protect everything in transit too.
