opinions on solid pine cabs

whats anyones take on the relative merits of solid pine vs birch speaker cabs

Very "lively" sounding... Perfect, if you like a little jangle in your tone... blues, rock... country? Probably would choose birch for tight/thumping metal riffs...

I recently built two 4x12 cabs (combination of a few different designs) out of 18mm baltic birch... and they sound awesome. Sold my Marshall cabs...

Birch weighs a TON though!! :lol:
