I'm just wondering if the reliability on the MTS series is better than other tube amps. i mean recently alot of people have been posting about alot of problems. *knocks on wood* for my own RM100 :p.

Most of the problems that you read about are tube based. The current production tubes are not very reliable and a tube failure can be often confused with an amp reliability problem. Check some other amp manufacturers boards and you will see lots of "help with problem" posts also.

Ahh alright i see.. Well i have a HUGE outdoor gig at my school next month. and I have had the amp NEW for about 10 months. I havent really blasted the thing to gig volume that much, just a few times.. So my tubes should be fine right???..

Should be but I never gig without a backup to everything. Tubes, strings, fuses, cables, guitar, and even some type of back up amp. Things happen and you don't want to be up there playing air guitar.

I use a RP1000 in my rig so that backs up my amp but I also keep a Crate Powerblock in my bag.

Supreme advice

Both my Lynch Box heads have been reliable with the exception of minor issues. The "Corona Dope" mode is one to consider.

Alright.. yeah. I have a 50W Marshall SS as a backup, but yeah i just wanted to make sure ya know.. thanks guys.

I have a Lynchbox 100 head I bought used 1 1/2 years ago..It was built in 2007....I've played it on many gigs and have never had a problem...I do always bring a backup head FWIW....My 3 piece blues/rock band would sound pretty boring with just bass and drums all night...I also own and play out with an RM4 and an RM2o combo...They have been flawless as well.....I personally think that Randall builds some of the best production amps out there..Bruce Egnater designed these and his designs have withstood the track of time....I've never seen a 100 watt head with bigger transformers.....Is it point to point wired like a Two Rock or Matchless?..No, but it's far more versatile, and it won't run you 3 to 4K
