I've got a noise gate hooked up to my G3 head; its an Alesis Compressor/Limiter/Gate with 2 channels that can be independent or doubled with a push button.
Normally for practice I have the Alesis box going thru my series loop on my G3, using the gate feature only and works pretty decently. For louder volume jam sessions and gigs, I have to put it in front of my amp to get rid of the squealing and feedback from my pickups.
My question is, if its got the 2 independent channels, can i run one channel in front of my amp to silence the guitar, and one channel thru my effects loop to silence the amp? Or will this result in 800 times more squealing and rip a hole in the universe? I'm just afraid of blowing something up. Thanks.
