Hey guys ,

Im thinking of adding a nova drive to a G system and an RM4.

Does anyone know if the nova drive will respond to messages that go through the RM4 (midi out from the RM4) , or, am I going to need some kind of midi splitter(midimate?). and will that in fact work , or will the RM4 get confused?

thnx in advance,

jack

I dont know if it will respond..but I do know the NovaDrive was a dissapointment to me.I tried it at the store for 45minutes and I think the disortions/overdrives just dont sound real...
I wanted to like it..it would have saved me alot of trouble..but my old stompboxes made 30 years ago sound better.
Just sayin

The RM4 responds to normal MIDI Program changes
(IOW, it isn't limited to PGM 1-4, though I'm not sure if it goes to 99 or 127)

I'm not very informed about the G System
but looking at the back panel's loop connection, I would say it's not even neccesary to have the RM and the Nova on different MIDI channels,
since you can use the G-system to select the preferred loop in a patch

What should be done is this connection
G-System midi-out -> RM4/RM4 Thru -> Nova

But I must say
If the G-system has 'movable' FX blocks and you're able to put its EQ in front of the loops, I really don't see any added benefit of adding another OD/Dist pedal with a fully loaded RM4
