RM4/Modern Help!!

I just got a modern module in the mail today off of the bay. I have a tredplate and blackface already. I know the modern is the same more or less then the tredplate, but I got the modern to send to slavation to make into the slo 100. Anyways when ever I put the module in (modern) and screw it in all the way the light comes on and stays on no matter what channel I am in. It is bleeding over on all the channels. Someone help?? I am confused? Thanks

Maybe stumped,as I don't recall this problem.Did the last person have this problem with this module?Does the amp work fine with other modules in this slot?Are the end pins clean from crap and such,like solder?

Could be a number of things...I'd look for solder shorts first or any obvious damage.

I think these guys use little opto-isolators/switches...so am betting one of those has gone bye bye and 'always on.'

hey jkd,

can you tell me more about those switches you just mentioned. i think i have a very simular problem with my rm4 with funny behavior at sertain volume settings in slot 1 & 2.

I assumed it was all or nothing with those..they either worked or not....so not sure about dependance on volume....anythings possible with electronics tho' I guess

Have never even looked those part numbers up....lol.....I'd wait for someone like Pete to chime in on it

ok thanks for the tips! I will glance over tomorrow. Maybe pete has some insite... I have PM him a couple of times for things but never got a responce. I got the module to be modded anyway so, Salvation will probley change all the parts anyway... Thanks again.

PS How do I know if one of theses opti switches are bad??
