RM50 combo...Having custom headshell built who wants one??

I have an RM50 combo, and I am going to have a headshell built for it, Finger jointed baltic birch, mine will be uncovered, but the Carpenter that I am having build it for me can also do tolex work.

If there are a few people interested we can get a better price per unit.

We should be able to get them flatpacked, and just glue it together when it arrives to save on shipping.

Wouldn't they need to be assembled before they are tolexed?

They would have to be, but if anyone else wants an unfinished one it would be a lot cheaper to ship. Also if anyone wants to do the tolex themselves it would save some money.

Bummer, I've been doing my own. I've been working on converting a combo into a head. I hated butchering up a nice new combo, but inspiration was calling.

I got tired of waiting for him to get back to me with a price, and I went to the hardware store, and they had a nice off cut of 3/4" baltic birch sitting there for $5. I got them to cut it up for me. All in was $15. I have some work to do with my router to finish it off, but it shouldn't be too hard. I will post pics of the build.
