I have a Marshal 8008 power amp..its an older 90s power amp, supposedly a design that uses tubes but also SS parts...

No tubes in the 8008/8004 poweramps, just linear or valvestate response
which in my 8004 back then didn't seem to make any difference

I'm willing to bet the rocktron velocities gave those amps a run for their money
(The Velocities still being produced may be the proof of that)

well my 8008 may not have a tube in it..but it sure is heavy enough to have one!!!!
And it actually does a good job..but I am spoiled,,I have an rt 2/50.
I keep trying to find a smaller ,lighter way to get good tube tone but oh..there just doesnt seem to be a way. (PS: must be versatile)

I reread this thread and it seemed someone suggested a RT 2/50 could be done with less weight..NOW THERE'S AN IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a good power scale kit. I am thinking of adding a couple of these to my RT2/50 so i can operate it at "gig" level.

Or an SE mod.

And for sag, good emulation of a tube rectifier.

I personally like London Power. They are really nice folks. I am going to contact them soon to inquire about the sag and power scale kits.
BTW i am still researching whether these are the right kits. I am not sure of the RT's plate voltage and bias current so don't take my word that these are the right kit. But it should turn this thread in a new direction for further research and expansion. And i want to hear what you guys think of these mods.

Peace, Joshua
