Syn2 unwanted midi switching when using Helix

I have a syn2 in a fx loop on a helix. I use midi commands from the helix to switch channels on the Syn2. Everything works as it should until I use the 6 switch looper on the helix. When i use the looper and press the record button the Syn2 switches to standby mode. I assume this is because some unwanted midi command from the helix but i haven't been able to find any. Does anyone else have this issue?

If you can: connect a MIDI monitor on a computer or something to your Helix and you can see what messages the Helix is putting out. It is probably a CC message on 50-60 range CC 60 will bypass it and 64 will mute it. You may want to put the Helix and the Syn on different channels.
