Hi all, so I found nothing on youtube about how the cathode switch and the 100b - 101b switch sound like so I’ve recorded a few clips. I compared the cathode switch with the blue channel on a clean setting to compare headroom and bass response. I also compared the 100b 101b switch on position C and M on a crunch setting (obviously on the red channel). I compressed the files to zip.
In my opinion, the cathode switch on position 3 has the most bass and least headroom, position 1 has little less bass and a little more headroom than position 3 and position 2 has the least bass and most headroom.
For the 100b 101b switch, the difference is really noticeable on the M position, the 101b is a little bit more compressed with more gain. On position C the difference is quite subtle. Air switch is off because to me it makes everything sound a bit fizzy, and the channels were both set to B1.
