I believe the Buddy would be the only thing I'd be willing to trade my newly acquired Stonerverb 'De Large' (extra switch/shaping options incl 3 way mid shift and 3 way pre-bass (bass boost), and retains the 'clean' channel) for. I've got an R'Verb that I also like very much (though not as much as this), and I'd like to have a more versatile recto-type mod and the Buddy seems to be the only such thing out there.

I may ask for +$ to make the deal equitable.

PM me if you are interested.

any interest in a JF Snakebite as this one is considered to deliver a "refined" recto tone?

The Buddy is in no way a Recto tone. It is like a Buddha, which although it does have its own vibe, would be more in the modded Marshall camp.

Snakebite is way more Recto.

Hmm, to my ears the Budda Superdrive 80 is Recto all the way. I've never played one, or seen one for that matter, but just going off of the available clips, the drive side has that slight 'fizz' and deep woody tone that I associate with Recto's.

I find the Framus tone to be too 'soft' and lacks the thump and bite that I'm looking for. My JF custom Blackout (based off of Breaking Benjamin/Mark Tremonti Recto amp tones) does that in droves, but if I could get the same drive tones, plus have some nice unique clean/mid-drive tones, I'd welcome the versatility. If that's not what I'll find in a Buddy, then maybe I'll pass...

No thanks, I'm not a fan of the Framus tones. My 'Blackout' does the brutal recto thing great, just hoping for more versatility in a mod.

If it helps, I agree my Buddy doesn't sound recto. It's a more open and brash/hairy (not talking gain).

Maybe check some Bhudda SuperDrive demos as finding Buddy recordings is not easy.

I totally enjoy my Buddy module and was surprised at how nice the optional clean voicing sounds (had to pay extra for it).

Agreed... love my buddy mod...
Does some great cleans, has very smooth breakup when gain increased , and to me it doesn't sound marshally or fenderish..
To me, it is its own tone.. different flavor..
A very nice flavor in my opinion.
