So any of you guys out there considering these modules....This message is for you...

These two mods go VERY well together and I would love to show you why you need them...Apart from my usual stupid humor (which is unavoidable)- what do you really want to hear? EQ? Settings? Full mix? I will give you as many scenarios as I can, I just want to give priority to the ones you guys want...Remember, there's already some basic demos out there and I don't want to recreate the wheel- I want you to experience these modules for the amazing pieces of work they are!

Thanks for any opinions....

Well I feel a lot of them are showcasing just the Floyd/Gilmour side of the Hiwatt spectrum

I'd like to hear Townshend style, Page style Hiwatt tones and maybe just a better showcase to the overall versatility and gain range of the Hiwatt sound.

I think it is useful to show both a full mix as well as just solo'd tracks.

As for the Vox stuff I hear a lot of demos that really revolve around the heavier side think like Queen, etc. Which is cool, don't get me wrong.

I'd like to hear a better showcase of some of the cleaner to mid-gain stuff which is what a lot consider to be that Vox sound. Think like 60's british invasion type stuff. A lot of players really buy the Vox AC30 for that chimey, jangly, barely broken up tone rather than the cranked, overdriven tone (which is too loud for most cats).

Thank you for taking the time to respond and that's exactly the kinda direction I was hoping for....

EQ Settings would be great. The Hiwatt clean!
I know most people just focus on the Gilmour/Zep sounds but I am old Jesus Lizard fan and would love to hear an attempt at some Duane Denison tones.
Also, would love to hear it pushed into oblivion, just for kicks.

Yeah I forgot to mention showcasing the reaction of all the knobs in the demo.

Maybe start at noon and show the range each knob offers. I like to do that in my demos and then play samples/full band things using my "favorite" settings.

It won't be like a song or anything exciting but it is a great resource to let players know what's on tap so to speak and how much tweakability/interaction is available.

And anytime you can showcase different guitars/pickups is always a plus.

I also think it's important to pick appropriate guitars/pickups for demonstrations (like pair classic combinations together)

I laugh at some youtube videos where the guy will be playing an MTS module (or amps the modules are based on) like a Top Boost, Blackface, etc (clean-mid gainer) and it'll be some Blackout'd/EMG'd BC Rich or something. It's like ummm when I think of a blackface fender twin I probably hear a Fender single coil guitar in my head (strat, tele, jaguar, jazzmaster, etc) by default to get that "blackface twin tone" (ie surf, blues, country, etc). When I plug into a Vox AC30 (I think Rick 12, Les Paul, SG, Tele, etc ie british invasion, american folk rock, some surfy stuff, some country stuff). And to me that legendary Hiwatt tone I aspire to is probably the SG jr with P90 pickups (ala Live at Leeds/Hull/Isle of Wight or in other words Who in their heyday). But then with Hiwatt you can also use Teles, Strats, Les Pauls, etc to showcase the full range of useful tones available (they really do sound great clean-just breaking up-moderate crunch-and have a nice fully driven tone).

I do think it can be handy to say here is how this module reacts with tele single coils, les paul paf humbuckers, etc.

don't get me wrong I don't mind experimenting with new pickups/guitars. But to make a useful demonstration I think it is important to provide a frame of reference that most people are familiar with.

I agree with the British Invasion type tones....some Beatles-ish stuff with a Gretsch would be great. Also, on the Vox type mods there is this eq thing where it tends to work differently than other amps.....kind of like when you turn up the bass the treble drops and vice versa. I have never quite understood how that works, so a demo with an explanation would be great.
Also plenty of toilet humor would be most welcome.

Also, it would be a plus if you could show how the setting handle both chords and notes. I hate demos of dudes just noodling solos. Those tend to be a complete wank.

I agree with this, it's nice to see how individual notes stand out within chords......or turn to mush.....either/or.

I'll second this motion
