I'm wondering what EQ people are using with the RM100, since the loop is line level. I've looked at the MXR 10 band EQ, but cant find any specs, also would the Kerry King EQ be better for down tuning? I've heard the Boss GE-7, sucks tone and I really dont want a tone sucker. Also I dont feel like spending more money on a line level shifter......

The problem most pople run into with EQ pedals is noise. Tone suckage is usually what people describe when they turn the pedal off and they feel it degrades thier tone. A pedal that does that is probably one with an unpleasant or "tone sucking" buffer which means that it is not true bypass. Buffers are not all bad, some are good sounding buffers and help drive long lengths of cable to push your signal loss down.

This EQ is one that gets pretty good reviews.

You can buy them alreday built too if your a technically deficient like me.

What are you trying to achieve with the EQ. I mean, do you want it on all the time as a master EQ for all three channels, or are you trying to drive a certain sound, or are you wanting to EQ just your heavey tones or what?

I use a Presonus EQ3B 3 band fully parametric in the serial loop.

I also use a Boss GE-7 as a either a mid-booster for the Recto or a clean level boost for the Plexi.

I even have an old home stereo 7-band graphic that I play with every rare once in awhile.

I even tried using all three simultaneously trying to get the Dime tone with the Ultra. I got pretty darn close. Unfortunately pretty much everything else sounded like crap so I went back to just the EQ3B with occassional GE-7 help.

I like the Sniper Mod EQ, sounds alot more natural than a stock GE7.
Plus stealth black looks cool! LOL

I have some expensive gear, but for EQ, I'm happy with the Dano Fish & Chips that I paid $20 for a few years back. It's been on my pedal board for years.

Would the 10 or 8 band MXR EQ's work with line level tho or would I need a line level shifter?

i'll let you know i'm getting the 10 band next week. right now i'm in search of the same thing you are. i've been using a tube screamer out front on my 1086 with great results now i'm looking to shape my sound into super heavy grind where it was before the tube screamer. for me the 1086 has awesome tone just not enough gain.

Nice, do you think the Kerry King one would be better? they both adjust different freq. Would the normal 10 band still be okay for down tuning?
I've really noticed my amp sounding too natural lately and I cant stand it so im hoping an eq will also help fix that issue.

my bad i forgot to get back, the ten band is sweet but if its in your chain and not on it does seem to have a effect on your tone, seems to add a hair of brightness but once you start tweaking it will become awesome. its the best peice of gear i've aquired recently  its perfect for downtuning. still after a parametric though
