I would say tubes would be an awesome starting point. I was having tube issues in one of mine and volume/gain fade was one of the first issues I noticed.

1086 is one of my favorites. I use it with the gain at 11 o clock, on the OD1 setting, with a bad monkey out front. I love it, sound guys say it is the best tone they've heard, all soooo good!

I've been saying it for years. Would be cool to have solid state and tube rectification options on an RM4/RT2/50 rig to add some sag. I know this is pretty much unicorn's puking rainbows territory tho! :)

I too would love to see some new ground treaded on the power amp side of things. RT 2/50 mods would be awesome! As would some evil robot stuff. Always enjoy what i hear from those amps!

No GT but I found the second gear with the gain noon to 1 is about as hot as I could get the quick mod. Still a quite awesome module when tweaked in properly

I have vintage 30s in my cab, I use the original quick mod with gain at 1:00 on gear 2, overdrive 1 with a boost in front just to tighten things up a bit and it is flat out awesome. These can be tricky beasts to dial in. Although if ya don't dig it, ya don't dig it
