Well, I'm a college student on a pretty tight budget right now, so I don't think I could sell only the chasis and the footswitch and afford even a used RM100. I'd be open to trades, but Idk who would trade an RM4 for an RM100.

Haha, nah, I could always just buy the new chip. This just got me thinking about whether I really need a rack, and I think I'd prefer just a nice head. Trades... Well, I have my heart set on a Carvin V3, but I might consider a Peavey JSX too. I basically want a nice, three channel head...

All this delay trouble made me think twice about my RM4. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not a rack guy. So, I'm putting the RM4, modules, and footswitch up on ebay :P . Here's the RM4 link...

Eh, I think the RF4 is a typo, as I just received a brand new RF4 last week :P . I'm pretty sure he meant RM4. Regardless, unless okstrat (or someone else) or a Randall rep. can give me some words of hope, I'm selling.

As some of you know, the older RM4's need an upgraded chip to fix the channel switching delay. I emailed Randall, and this is the response I got If this is the case, I'm selling my RM4. It's unbelievable that Randall won't even service it or even send me a chip to install on my own :!: If...

This really depends on the rig. For someone playing moderate gain with EMG's, then no. There are also some misconceptions out there that a rig should be 100% (or pretty close to that) quiet, which isn't true. I need a pretty hard noise gate because I play hi gain with passive P90's. For most...

Well, the delay isn't really that bad; for someone who doesn't require INSTANT channel changes I don't think it would be a problem, but if you're doing, say, a chord transition or a solo run, and you switch channels in the middle of playing, there should be a noticable pause while the channel...

I'm definitely interested in any mods that can correct this. My music requires a lot of instant channel changes, and this delay is just enough to cut off the meat of my notes when i switch, which makes the delay quite obvious.
