Anyone try the Voodoo Express or Liverpool mods?

I've honestly never even seen a Trainwreck of any sort, let alone heard one outside of recordings. Thus my dilemma. My DLX doesn't quite give me anything I can't get (imo) better things out of with my other cleanish modules so I've been looking into mods for that which could be interesting to my...

    Tubes...Again...

I play 2 stock randall, and 3 stock egnater modules, and without the right tubes in them, I wouldn't bother with them. Well maybe the eggy modules. With the right tube combos they can sound pretty darn good. I haven't found the right combo for the VX yet, but I'm getting close. My 2 modded...

    Tweed vs Topboost/Super V

I don't have the Randall versions of the vox mods, but I have the Egnater VX which is more normal vox levels of gain, probably more like the Super V. I also have the Randall Tweed. I love them both equally but separately. I wouldn't say they really overlap much at all. The highs are even in...

    Down's sound in a module

Yeah the Tom Anderson H3 is what he used to use before he started using the EMGs in the ESPs. Pepper uses it too, but he's also uses the Duncan Pearly Gates and Invader. As a band they are endorsed by Orange now, so that should be cool too.

    Down's sound in a module

I can hear some 800 on Over the Under for sure, and that part is covered by my SL+. The first album was definitely a Mesa .50 Cal for all Pepper's parts though, and possibly some of Kirks also. They used Randall Titans (I think) boosted by modded MT-2s on A Bustle in Your Hedgerow, but honestly...

    Down's sound in a module

I've really fallen in love with their sound. After some research I've found out the first album (favorite sounds) was recorded with a Mesa .50 Caliber and I believe Kirk and Pepper used it on Over the Under also. I know the Calibers were based on Marks, and they were originally suped up Fenders...

Scott Ian RM100SI and 3 Modules!

I absolutely love it! If I ever have the need for a full powered head again this would totally be it just BECAUSE of the pentagram thing. Though that plate on a lynchbox would look pretty sweet. I'm super excited to hear the new modules too. There isn't much more I want tone wise besides some...

    NGD!!! :D

That pickup concept seems awesome. How do they sound? I know ibby pickups usually sound so so in basswood, but awesome in just about everything else. I'm hoping these are similar.

Jaded Faith Rverb = Awesome NMD!

Decerto, any specific band/genre ideas? I learn quick, and probably at least know something similar anyway. I don't really do much in the fast noodley lead stuff, so no worries there. Eyeball, I planned on it. I got it with the variable gain switch for a reason after all  Any specific...

I'm going to record some clips this week, any requests?

    Gone!! Egnater DLX single channel

GONE! I have an Egnater DLX single channel module. It sounds great, but it just isn't a sound I use often, if at all. It excels at blues, but i can get that out of my VX or Tweed in flavors I like more. It cleans up very nicely, and gains out some where in the mid gain area. It sounds...

Help I think my Randall hates other amps!!!!

A power amp in, or effects loop return. You may just be better off getting just a power amp honestly.

Jaded Faith Rverb = Awesome NMD!

I was going to post in one of the other topics, but figured it would get overlooked by some. So here it is. I just got my JF Rverb today, err yesterday as it is after midnight everywhere but Hawaii by now. I plugged her in and messed with it all afternoon into the night until my gf decided she...

    Djent tones???

No problem. I always enjoy talking gear and tone and trying to help some one else with it. I used to be pretty active on sevenstring.org. He used to be fairly active there too. He still is when they aren't on tour I guess, I just don't bother with there any more for some reason.

    RM22 and Soldano Style Mods

So do I, but at least they are better than buying new amps all the time. My gf hardly notices when I get a new module, but she bitched all the time when I would swap amps like crazy. Not to mention it costs less than buying all the amps they emulate, even with the mods.

    Djent tones???

Now that I am on my mobile I can see the video. Bulb recorded all that with a Pod on the "treadplate" and/or "bigbottom" setting, a screamer w/ gain min vol maxed, 412 v30 sim, and lots of compression EQ and gating with the gain actually relatively low. However, when I played his Pod settings I...

    Djent tones???

The Ultra XL will get there. The treadplate might get there with a tight guitar and a boost. Never played an xtc to know about that. An SL+ would definitely get there also, particularly the older more modern sounding one.
