Man I see alot of metal players using JB's for drop-tuned metal like Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Darkest Hour, etc... For some reason I can't get them to sound good downtuned. Maybe it's my sh!tty playing. :D

Dude trust me.....you'll like the amp and none of the mods contribute to the amp blowing fuses or anything else. I've had 2 RM's and I didn't have any issues with either of them. I think some of it comes from changing the power tubes and not realizing to turn the bias down so when you throw...

I never had any issues at all when I tried this setup. JJ KT88's at 50mA on the outside and E34L's at 38mA on the inside. Never blew a fuse or had any other problems.

Hmmmmmm....my Warmoth is Alder with a recessed Floyd so maybe I could benefit from the Blackouts. Might have to pick one up for the hell of it.

Mine are set at 38mA. When I go higher than that they breakup a little bit more and me no likey for the tight metal tones. :lol:

That's exactly the way I feel about it....I'm running the Blackface with E34L's right now and it sounds really good but not exactly like an old Fender. Sounds way better than the clean channels of most other amps out there though so it works for me.

I think what I did when I put two of those in the outside positions is biased the E34L's that were already in the outside positions down to a cold setting like 15mA, shut the amp down and pulled the 2 E34L's, and then installed the 88's and biased them up from there. You definately want to turn...

It would own more if it were 100 watts. They should have just made it into a regular RM12 preamp without the power amp IMO.

I want to check out a 2X12 with G12K-100's. That would kick through an Avatar comtemporary cab.

I have the MXR 10 band..not the KK model. Use it basically like he does though, upfront with a midrange boost and level boost and the SL+ module...definately makes a big difference.

That's strange man...I've had a couple of these heads and never had an issue with fuses. Godamn though....you never know what kind of situation you're gonna run into at the clubs though. Are you using a power conditioner?
