I opened up my RT2/50 to look at the bias points - there's a hole in the top of them (small white plastic sockets). If you press down through the hole, it seems to push a small metal clip down and make the connection tighter. In my case the sockets were actually torn off of the circuit board...

I'm preparing to replace the pots on a Top Boost module, and I'm wondering how to get the face plate off - the bright switch lever is too big to fit through the hole - does it screw off? Thanks in advance for your time.

I think I need to replace the gain pot on a Top Boost module, but I don't see a value stamped on the back. Anyone know what it should be?

Have you tried swapping in different power tubes? The crackling/volume swell make me think it might be the power tubes (but I'm no expert).

Cool - thanks! I guess it's a another case of the old Fletcher-Munson curve faking me out. You're right about the gain - it stays clear when dimed, and I can punch it with my George Lynch Time Machine boost if that's not enough.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I did spray some DeOxit on the board connectors before I put 'em back in. I'm gonna pull the Deluxe module out to try another tube swap (5751 this time), hopefully it'll be easier and I can save my money to buy some new modules. :)

Woo Hoo! Success at last. Man, I had to put my knee up against the amp and pull with all my might. It's out, though - maybe after a few swaps it'll loosen up. :D

Well, I got one module out about 1/4 inch. Does not want to budge any further. Very weird - but that's what you get sometimes with used gear.
